Pirilo
Pirilo (300 Calle Fortaleza, Old San Juan) — Brand new in the old city, this diminutive pizza place is turning out some of the finest pizza to be had in San Juan. Owner Eduardo Rubio makes everything from scratch, most notably the pizza crust, which uses a 300-year-old starter as its base. You can have anything from a classic margherita pie to one based on the local tripleta sandwich. Given the nightly crowds, it’s clear that others are in on the secret. It’s always packed, but everyone is having such a good time, you won’t mind, especially with more than 50 craft brews available.
